Hi! We are the team at Winchester Detached Youth Work Project, aka Street Reach.
Detached youth work is different from other youth projects that you might have come across. Instead of having a base for you to come to us we'll wander around your local area to find you for a chat or we'll bring stuff to play rounders or maybe even some hot chocolate in winter.
We want to talk to you guys about your needs as young people in Winchester - we've heard almost everything so don't be shy! We're easy to spot in our black hoodies with 'Youth Worker' on the back so come say hi and ask us any questions you might have.
We also run a weekly drop-in football session at Henry Beaufort school for boys (sorry girls!) but there is more information about that here: www.streetreach.co.uk/projects/friday-football
Street Reach are looking to recruit Youth Workers who will work with young people in a detached environment, providing a variety of challenging and exciting opportunities to enable them to develop personally and socially.
The work will be based in Winchester and surrounding areas. 6 - 8 hours per week, evenings. £8.00 to £10.70 p/hr. Rate offered will be according to experience. Driver with own transport essential (expenses paid).
Closing date: Wednesday 7th May 2014, 5pm.
Interviews: Tuesday 13th May, evening. Successful applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced CRB check.

We have been successful in obtaining grant from WACA (Winchester Area Community Action) to fund the subscription for a localgiving page for a year.
It is live now and they are doing a match funding called 'grow a tenner' where they will match any donations we receive from now until all of the funds have been allocated so anything you can manage to donate to us would be fantastic!
